CHAPTER 2: GRACE IS WHO YOU ARE

G.R.A.C.E. (YOUR TRUE IDENTITY)

You are Good. You possess intrinsic value and purpose.

You are Rational. Your ability to think and create is a defining feature.

You are Active (productive). Your actions bring meaning to your existence.

You are Connected. You are part of a greater whole, intertwined with others and the universe.

You are Energized. You are infused with living energy—your spirit is creative, evolving, and
vibrantly alive. Grace doesn't just last forever—it empowers you now.

Optional: Additional Acronyms for Understanding Your Identity and Salvation

While the GRACE acronym is the heart of understanding your identity, there are three other
acronyms that may prove useful in deepening your perspective.

---

1. NEW LIFE – Your Identity as a Christian

The NEW LIFE acronym reminds you of who you are in Christ, with supporting verses for each
truth:

N – You are a New Creation; the old has gone, and the new has come.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2
Corinthians 5:17)

E – You have Everything You Need for life and godliness.

“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of
Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.” (2 Peter 1:3)

W – You are God’s Work and His Worker, created for good works.

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared in
advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)

L – You are Loved and completely accepted in Christ.

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1)

I – You are Indwelt by His Spirit, meaning God is within you.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have
received from God?” (1 Corinthians 6:19)

F – You are Forgiven and free from condemnation.

“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)

E – You have Eternal Life, which begins now and never ends.

“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.” (1 John 5:11)

This acronym is a simple way to remember the blessings and certainty that come from faith.

2. K-I-S-S – The Identity of Jesus

Unlike the other acronyms, K-I-S-S is not about you—it’s about who Jesus is:

K – He is your King, meaning He is your provider and protector.

“For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet.” (1 Corinthians 15:25)

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 4:19)

I-S – He is your Indwelling Spirit, always present within you.

“Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27)

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper to be with you forever—even the Spirit
of truth.” (John 14:16-17)

S – He is your Savior, not from punishment, but from the great lie—that we were ever unloved,
unworthy, or separated. His death and resurrection demonstrate the truth about who God is: a
God of relentless grace and relationship, not wrath.
“God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them.” (2
Cor. 5:19)
“You were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds…” (Col. 1:21)

Jesus is not just a historical figure—He is alive, active, and personally involved in your life.

An alternate presentation of the gospel is as follows.

The Four Laws (Univist Version)

1. God Loves Us.
The universe—God—is inherently good and designed for growth, connection, and expansion.
You are deeply loved, infinitely valuable, and part of something eternal.

2. We Have Sinned.
Sin isn’t about breaking rules—it’s about making irrational choices that harm us and others.
Recognizing this is not about guilt, but about awakening to a better way of living.

3. God Revealed Our Worth Through the Cross.
Jesus didn’t pay a debt—He revealed how much we’re worth.
Salvation isn’t earned or withheld—it’s a relationship already offered to all.
There is no eternal punishment—only continual growth, transformation, and learning.

4. We Need to Believe That We Are Saved.
The only thing left is to accept and embrace what’s already true.
You don’t have to strive for salvation—just awaken to the love and life already given to you.

3. HOPE – Why Grace Extends to Everyone

The HOPE acronym makes the case for universal salvation:

H.O.P.E.

H – Humanity is loved by God
“[God] desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
(1 Timothy 2:4)

O – Offers relationship and reconciliation to all
“God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting people’s sins against them.”
(2 Corinthians 5:19)

P – Proves our worth through the cross
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for
us.”
(Romans 5:8)

E – Everyone will eventually respond and be saved
“At the name of Jesus every knee should bow… and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus
Christ is Lord.”
(Philippians 2:10–11)

This is the foundation of Univism: Grace is not limited to a few, but extends to all. No one is lost
forever.

Each of these acronyms builds upon the core message of GRACE, providing a fuller picture of
who you are, who Jesus is, and why salvation is certain for all.

Takeaway: Reflect on one of these aspects of your identity daily and find ways to express it in
your actions.

Transition: Embracing your identity sets the stage for personal growth, which begins with a
holistic approach to life.
